PERFORMANCE:

SPOOKY TALES (FAMILY)

This play follows a group of children who meet every Friday night once the sun has gone down to tell tales to see who can give each other the best nightmare. The play has an overarching story with several episodic tales taking place throughout the performance. This will involve the cast taking on different roles in each of the stories.

CASTING (4 Actors)

We are looking for 4 actors who are good at playing juvenile roles and big characters. Physical theatre and high-energy will play an important part in this piece.

PERFORMANCE:

WE’LL MEET AGAIN (FAMILY)

Our World War II show follows Lucy, a young girl from Liverpool who is evacuated to Wrexham. She leaves everything she knows behind to start a new life. No one knows when the evacuees will be coming home. When she arrives in Wales, she meets Tom Jones, a young boy from the host family she is to be staying with. Although cold to begin with, we see their relationship blossom and grow as they learn about each other’s lives and the city children integrate into the countryside.

Using letters back home, we see how Mr Parry copes in the middle of the blitz. We also learn about rationing and how food was seen as a precious commodity that had to be shared out, so people did not starve.

As the war ends, Lucy has stopped receiving letters from her father. Will she see him again, or has something horrible happened to him? Find out, as you and your families enjoy our musical WWII show. There is plenty of singing, dancing, and lots of audience participation too!

CASTING (4 Actors)

LUCY (playing age juvenile) – Lucy is shy but grows in confidence as the play progresses.

TOM (playing age juvenile) – Tom starts off quite nasty and a bit of a bully towards Lucy. However, he softens to her as time rolls on.

MRS JENKINS (playing age middle-aged) – Mrs Jenkin’s is the mother of Charlie (Lucy’s friend). She looks after her mother who has dementia. She is a gentle soul with a sharp tongue – never afraid to give someone a piece of her mind.

Come and help the friends tell their stories and delve into the magical worlds that they create amongst them!

DATE NIGHT (COMEDY)

Jenna feels trapped, James feels lost, Sonny needs a break and Sheila just wants to be loved. When all these worlds collide, mayhem ensues. These four people were never meant to meet, but fate brought them all together.

Date Night is all about love, betrayal, joy, meatballs, but most of all… the need to just communicate!

CASTING (4 Actors)

JAMES (30s) – James is impulsive and lives on a whim. He turns up at Jenna’s flat after inheriting money and decides he needs a drastic life change. He’s not a bad person – just makes bad decisions!

SONNY (30s) – Husband to Jenna. Sonny works a lot, to distract from the fact that starting a family still hasn’t happened. He doesn’t resent Jenna for this, he just doesn’t know how they move forward yet. Jenna comes before everything subconsciously.

SHEILA (30s) – Sheila is the calmest character – but still has a sharp tongue and razor wit. She is blindsided by the news when James leaves her. She goes out and gets drunk and ends up tailing Sonny home to sleep with him. Seeing her husband brings up all her mixed feelings about his inadequacies as a parent. Ultimately, she realises he still needs her to look after him, and she secretly enjoys doing it.
